Four measures for nephritic syndrome

  Four measures for nephritic syndrome

  Nursing care of nephritic syndrome

  1. Bed rest

Lying can increase renal blood flowing and the glomerular filtration rate, and reduce the retention of water and sodium. Bed rest and activity should be carried out alternately for patients with mild edema, and the amount of activity should be restricted. For the patients with severe edema should rest on bed, and raise the edema body to facilitate the returning of blood and reduce edema.

  2. Protect the area of edema skin to prevent skin damage

The patients should wear soft and wide cotton clothes, keep the bed flat and dry, and often turn body to avoid skin compression. Besides, the patients should have a shower regularly with warm water, wash clothes, wash mouth after meals, wash the perineal once a day, and keep skin clean and prevent infection.

  3. Avoid incentives

For the patients with chronic kidney disease, the disease condition always get worse caused by the upper respiratory tract infection or the infection of other parts, excessive fatigue, emotional changes, or much intake for salt , which finally increase the edema. So the patients should avoid these incentives, maintain a good mood and living habits, and control the diet actively to promote the recovery of the disease.

  4. Limit the intake of sodium and water

The patients should limit the intake of salt, and do not over limit water. Sodium limit is less than 3g/d, which includes the food and beverage containing sodium, such as sausage, bacon, canned food and so on. For the patients with severe edema and oliguric, the daily water intake should be limited to 1000ml, they would better to take diet without salt, and add sugar, vinegar, onions and other seasonings export to increase their appetite.
